Start your day with God’s Word! Read today’s devotional for encouragement and wisdom. By Rt Rev Christian Ajuonuma PhD JP.  Theme: Dealing with the Sounding Brass Topic: The Noise Maker Text: 1Cor 13:1 "If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbals"  I welcome you to the month of divine demonstration of God's love. This is a month of practical love. Every spiritual demonstration in the bsence of this practical love in the midst of God's people is described as noise making. Today, we have lots of spiritual activities like: prayers, speaking in tongues, prophecies, teachings, gifts of palliatives, donations and supports that lack Christian love. This is what Paul called noise making. James 1:22 advises us "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves". May we rise up this month to ensure adequate practical Christianity.  1. Love is practical giving. ...

Start your day with God’s Word! Read today’s devotional for encouragement and wisdom. By Rt Rev Christian Ajuonuma PhD JP.  Theme: The Shepherd's Hidden Words Topic: The Battle of the Disciples Part III Text: 2Sam 20:20 -21 "Joab answered, " Far be it from me, far be it, that I should swallow up or destroy. 21 That is not true. But a man of Ephraim, called Sheba the son of Bichri, has lifted up his hand against king David. Give up him alone, and I will withdraw from the city". And the woman said to Joab, " Behold, his head shall be thrown to you over the wall' Joab, Davids disciple and his defender, did not come to swallow and destroy but to defend and save. According to him there is a condition for justice and peace. Hand over Sheba the trouble maker, justice is done and peace is achieved. E very trouble has its permanent solution. Peace cannot be gotten at the altar of injustice. The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross was "the propitiation for our si...

Start your day with God’s Word! Read today’s devotional for encouragement and wisdom. By Rt Rev Christian Ajuonuma PhD JP.  Theme: The Shepherd's Hidden Words Topic: The Battle of the Disciples Part III Text: 2 Sam 20:19 "I am one of those who are peaceable and faithful in Israel. You seek to destroy a city that is a mother in Israel. Why will you swallow up the heritage of the Lord?"  Every true Disciple is a true resemblance of his master. We are true representatives of our principal. The above scripture presents the True disciple as a personification of her city, Abel Beth Maacah a peaceable city in Israel. If we are not ashamed of Jesus our SAVIOUR, we should not be ashamed of his church. The wise woman's choice of first personal pronoun singular "I' (KJV & ESV) or plural " We" (NIV) is an indication of one's willingness to take responsibility on behalf of one's people, church or society. We must be true representatives of wher...

Start your day with God’s Word! Read today’s devotional for encouragement and wisdom. By Rt Rev Christian Ajuonuma PhD JP  Theme: Battle of disciples Part II Text: 2 Sam 20:18 "Then she said, " They used to say in former times, "Let them but ask counsel at Abel, and so they settled a matter"  Today comes the riddle! In the battle of disciples, every wise and True disciple has a very big role to play for the peace of the society or organization where one belongs to. In the above text, the wise woman remembered the old riddle that pictured Abel Beth Maacah as a peaceful community where truth is said and justice is given. This phenomenon helps to condemn the wicked and justify the righteous. This will further save our judicial system, protect the leadership of the church, preserve the integrity of our institutions of the family, government and the church and finally sanitize our environment.  1. Abel Beth Maacah means "Meadow of the house of oppression". It...

Start your day with God’s Word! Read today’s devotional for encouragement and wisdom. By Rt Rev Christian Ajuonuma PhD JP  Theme: The Shepherd's Hidden Words Topic: Battle of disciples Part 1 Text: 2Sam 20:14 - 17 "Sheba passed through all the tribes of Israel to Abel Beth Maakah and through the entire region of the Berites, who gathered together and followed him. 15 All the troops with Joab came and besieged Sheba in Abel Beth Maakah. They built a siege ramp up to the city, and it stood against the outer fortifications. While they were battering the wall to bring it down, 16 a wise woman called from the city, " Listen! Listen! Tell Joab to come here so I can speak to him 17 He went toward her, and she asked, "Are you Joab?" "I am", he answered. She said, "Listen to what your servant has to say". "I'm listening", he said" When both Fake and True Disciples engage into battles on behalf of their masters, only wise and peace...

The Shepherd's Hidden Words - One of the True Disciples: Daily Devotional, Monday 24/2/25

Start your day with God’s Word! Read today’s devotional for encouragement and wisdom. By Rt Rev Christian Ajuonuma PhD JP  Theme: The Shepherd's Hidden Words Topic: One of the True Disciples. Text: John 6:70 - 71 "Then Jesus replied, "Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!". 71 He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him".  Judas, son of Simon Iscariot, one of the Twelve, supposedly, the true Disciples, was a devil! He was not classified as one of the fake or false disciples. Why? He was really called of God and had all the privileges to be one of the best outstanding and successful disciples. His choice to fail was probably personal to him based largely on his selfish, and uncontrollable carnal desires which eventually opened we order door for the devil to possess and destroy him. 1. As a man from Kerioth in Judah, he was the only non Galilean among the twelve disciples. Judas Iscario...

Start your day with God’s Word! Read today’s devotional for encouragement and wisdom. Author: By Rt Rev Christian Ajuonuma PhD JP.  Theme: The Shepherd's Hidden Words Topic: True Disciples Text: John 6:67-69 "So Jesus said to the twelve, " Do you want to go away as well? ". 68 Simon Peter answered him, " Lord, to whom shall we go? You have  the words of eternal life, 69 and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God" The True Disciples are genuine in their belief, confession and action. They are bold and speak with unshakable confidence. Their knowledge of God is always on the perfect tense, " We have entered a state of belief and knowledge that has continued until the present time". Paul who suffered shame in the name of Christ never saw it as shame "because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day" 2Tim 1:12. Have you truly believed...

Start your day with God’s Word! Read today’s devotional for encouragement and wisdom. Author: Rt Rev Christian Ajuonuma PhD JP.  Theme: The Shepherd's Hidden Words Topic: The Fake Disciples Text: John 6:65 - 66 "He went on to say, " This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them. 66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him" There are two kinds of disciples: The True Disciples who " are enabled", " granted" or "given" by God and The Fake Disciples" who are called, chosen or given by themselves, by their people or by Satan . From the above text, it is clear that fake disciples of Jesus were in majority. They came to overshadow the twelve who were truly called. "From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him" John 6:66. Are you among the True or Fake Disciples of Jesus? Are you a True or Fake member of the church?  1. The wo...

Author: Rt. Rev. Christian O. Ajuonuma PhD JP.  Theme: The Shepherd's Hidden Words Topic:The Distinguishing Factors Text: John 6:63-65 "The Spirit gives life, the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are Spirit, and they are life. 64 Yet there are some of you who do not believe. For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe, and who would betray him"  Jesus mentions the distinguishing factors between those who believe and those who do not, those who u understand and those who do not; his true disciples and those who are fake. "For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him".  1. Walking in the Spirit. Jesus used two analogies- "Flesh and Blood" and "Bread and Wine". It takes only those who are walking in the Spirit to understand and accept the message they carry. Many of the disciples did not distinguish between spiritual and physical "spiritual an...

The message of the day, Thursday, 20/2/25 By Rt Rev Christian Ajuonuma. PhD JP.  Theme: The Shepherd's Hidden Words.  Topic: Cause of Greater Offence Text: John 6:62 "Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before?"  The eating of Christ's flesh and blood as commanded by Jesus is a lesser activity than the severe suffering believers will pass through before entering into heaven! Oh! Ignorance is the cause of our misunderstanding. Jesus said to the Scribes and teachers of the Law who saw Jesus words for the paralyzed man as blasphemy "Which one is easier to say, " Your sins are forgiven ' or to say "Go up and walk?" " Matt 9:6. " I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins", So he said to the paralyzed man ," Get up, take your mat and go home" Matt 9;6. Somebody must rise up today to a greater height. Rise up and walk to your destiny!  1. Jesus made a statement that...
