Topic: The True Nature of Love Part 4

Text: 1Cor 13:7


"It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 


Other Positive nature or character of Love are outlined here. The most outstanding relationships that suffer in the absence of these qualities of love include marriage and employment. It can also be so of business partnership and political groups. It's obvious that any relationship that does not protect, trust, 

hope and endure all things will disintegrate. These love qualities act as adhesives which glue together members of fellowships, family, friendship, clubs, associations, organizations etc. "Charity" they say, "begins at home". Those who lack these qualities of love either in their personal lives or group, can not give it out to their neighbors. 


1. Love always protects and trusts. Peter 4:8 reminds us that love covers the multitude of sins. Love is not really blind as we usually say. When trust is established, it goes a long way to protect. Trust is mostly built on truth proven, overcome tests and temptations, morality displayed or a consistent positive character exhibited. One may be willing to stand for a wife, a husband, a child, a friend or an employee who proves to be trustworthy under any situation. In this situation, love protects. 


2. Love hopes. In this instance is love seen as blind. A hopeful wife will go extra miles to wait or stand for her suitor. Some wait until after training or schooling. Some hopeful men must wait the conception of his wife. Farmers sow and wait for time of harvest. The driving force is "Love". Hope is anchored on our faith or confidence on God and his unfailing words. 


3. Hope endures all things. This is another blindness of the love. Thanks to Robertson who once wrote, "When love has no evidence, it believes the best. When the evidence is adverse, it hopes for the best. And when hopes are repeatedly disappointed, it still courageously waits". Let's endure all things knowing that God is greater than any situation and any human authority. 


Prayer: Oh LORD my God, let the power of your unfailing love break any evil coverage over my face and help me to always listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit who directs me to the true nature of Love in Jesus name.
