Theme: Dealing with the Sounding Brass

Topic: Love is the fulfillment of the law

Text: Rom 13:10

"Love does no harm to a. neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law"

When love is the summary of the law, it's also the fulfillment of the law. Paul vehemently argued, "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. Christ is the limit at which the law ceases to be. Every law ends in love. Every commandment of God ends in "you must love God with all your heart, soul and might. You must love your neighbour as yourself".

1. Love is to both horizontal and vertical. It's never a political word but spiritual. Those who claim to love God must also love their neighbours. "If anyone says, " I love God" yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother whom he sees, can not love God, whom he has not seen" 1John 4:20. Loving God is seen in the way we love man. Man is the true representative of God on earth.

2. Genuine love does no harm or wrong to a neighbour. Who is a neighbour? Your wife or husband, your child or parents, your pastor or members, your master or servant employer or employee. Your co-worker, co-student, your business partner, co-passenger in the car, train, cargo, plane etc. all are neighbors. Why do you plan to kill, poison, destroy, torture, implicate, imprison, or kidnap one who is your neighbour and still feel innocent? Why do you cheat or deceive with Bible, flattering, pretension, sweet words, gifts of trap or dainties? Chai!

3. Let's stop quoting the Bible wrongly, let's go into the doing of the word. Love is the fulfillment of the law. Let's stop being legalistic or fatalistic or fetish. Let's stop playing on our relationship or using it to deceive or cheat. Love knows no sectionalism, no nepotism, no tribalism neither racism nor ethnicity. Al men were created equally and should be treated equally. Let's build our society, church and family like other nations and enjoy equal treatment for one another. Love truly is the fulfillment of the law

Prayer: Oh LORD my God, let the factors that kill genuine love in our families, church and society be killed, destroy every Spirit of pretext, hide and seek game in our lives and help us to be more practical in love for one another in Jesus name.
