Theme: Dealing with the Sounding Brass
Topic: Love is an endless Debt
Text: Rom 13:8
"Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law"
Love is a compulsory responsibility every individual owes to his fellow human being irrespective of religion, tribe, tongue, race, nation, class or position. It does not matter whether we agree at a point, an idea, a purpose or not. This is a message given by the Spirit of God which can only be received and accepted by those who are not led by the detects of the law but by the power of the Holy Spirit. " Pay all your debts except the debt of love for others - never finish paying that! For if you love them, you will be obeying all of God's laws, fulfilling all of his requirements" (LBT).
1. Paul was led to discuss the importance and superiority of LOVE over LAW as he discussed obedience to GOVERNMENT as an institution that enforces the law. In this manner also this applies to other two institutions of FAMILY and CHURCH. Love must be seen as an endless debt in the family, church and the government.
2. Love is a bridge between Relationship and Law. It gives meaning to obedience and relationship and motivates obedience to law. Those we love, we obey so easily. Love makes an instruction very simple. It motivates the gentility of heart and pardoning of an error so quickly. What cane cannot achieve, love can. Let's try it today!
3. Love is an endless responsibility in relationship. It's tooth is gentle in biting, its fire does not burn but sooth, it does not devour but preserves. If we practice love in sincerity, no truth is hard to be said, no wound us hard to be healed, no error is hard to be forgiven, no duty is hard to be offered, no case shall be difficult to be settled. Love is a cold water that quenches fire. Let's continue to pay this endless debt, in due time, we shall reap if we faint not.
Prayer: Oh LORD my God, the entrance of your word gives light and understanding; let this message save me from errors. Help me to consistently pay my debt of love no matter the challenge of the time in Jesus name.
